Netflix to release I Am Patrick film telling the story of St. Patrick
The docu-drama hits the streaming service in Ireland and the UK on March 12.
Just ahead of St. Patrick's Day, Netflix will release the historical docudrama I Am Patrick, telling the story of Saint Patrick. It will star Jogn Rhys-Davies and is narrated by Irish actor Moe Dunford.
Through historical re-enactments, expert interviews and Patrick’s own writings, experience the journey from man to saint. He lived a comfortable life as the son of a government official in Britain before he was kidnapped by pirates at the age of 16 and enslaved at the edge of the known world — Ireland.
Patrick was forced to work as a shepherd and was driven to the brink of starvation. He then turned to his Christian faith and manage to escape through divine intervention. Against the wishes of his family and the Church, Patrick returned as a missionary bishop to Ireland and converted thousands to Christianity. After a close friend exposed a dark secret of Patrick’s, it is believed he was ordered to leave his mission and return to Britain.
The film will be available on Netflix in Ireland and the UK on March 12.
