The film stars Pat Shortt, Patrick Ryan, Joan Sheehy, Sade Malone and Mark O’Regan, and will premiere in Limerick's Lime Tree Theatre on June 25.
The world premiere of Mike Finn’s new comedy Wreckquiem has been announced for a ten night and one matinee run, from Wednesday June 25 to Saturday July 8.
Directed by Andrew Flynn, the film is set to star Pat Shortt, Patrick Ryan, Joan Sheehy, Sade Malone and Mark O’Regan.
According to the official log-line, it tells the story of the community of characters that orbit Dessie’s Discs - when a developer threatens their beloved vinyl sanctuary, this band of misfits must save the day.
Wreckquiem is described as “a heart-warming comedy about hope, friendship and why it’s perfectly acceptable to own eight different versions of Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

“Beneath the musical homages and comedic turns,” the description continues, “it’s a sharp reflection on the deep loss of familiar faces and places in our communities. As large scale redevelopment bulldozes in, local independent providers seep away, and with them the character and colour, the unique personalities and irreplaceable spaces where community connection thrives.”
Wreckquiem plays in Lime Tree Theatre in Limerick, from Wednesday June 25 to Saturday July 8. Tickets sell from €25 here.
