Kabin Crew among winners at RTS Ireland Awards 2025
RTÉ's comedy Did You Read About Erskine Fogarty? won the Audience Choice award.
The 2025 Royal Television Society (RTS) Ireland Awards were held at Dublin's Guinness Storehouse on March 27.
Achievements and excellence in the TV industry were honoured in a ceremony hosted by Virgin Media Television, with support from Screen Ireland, Coimisiún na Meán, Screen Producers Ireland, alongside broadcasters RTÉ, TG4 and Sky Ireland.
The gala was presented by Muireann O’Connell and Tommy Bowe.
Kabin Crew’s Christmas Special won the Best Entertainment Programme. Kabin Crew are a collective of songwriters and performers of all ages organised around the Kabin Studio, a non-profit youth music space in Knocknaheeny, Cork City.
RTÉ's comedy Did You Read About Erskine Fogarty? won the Audience Choice award but lost the Best Scripted Show award against Screen Ireland's CRÁ.
The Oustanding Contribution Award was given to Alan Esslemont, who will end his term as director-general of TG4 in mid-April 2025
Dublin actor Cal O'Driscoll won the Breakthrough Talent Award.
Best Sports Documentary went to Girls in Green, an investigation into widespread allegations of inappropriate behaviour made by women against Irish male soccer coaches.
Stardust: Truth by RTÉ, which explores the Stardust nightclub tragedy, earned the Factual Series award.
Sky Ireland won News Broadcaster of the Year, and Gogglebox Ireland won the Factual Entertainment category.
RTÉ Investigates: Inside the Protests won the Current Affairs category for their covering of protests againt accommodation for migrants.
