Jennifer Aniston slates JD Vance's comments about childless women
The Friends star said she could not believe the comments came from a potential Vice President
Actress Jennifer Aniston has slated Donald Trump’s running mate JD Vance for comments he made about women without children.
A 2022 clip that resurfaced this week saw Vance describe the Democratic Party as being run by “Childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made”.
Vance, who was chosen as Trump’s VP pick last week, zoned in on democrats Kamala Harris, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Pete Buttigieg saying, “The entire future of the democrats is controlled by people without children”.
In a post on social media, Aniston criticised Vance’s words saying “I can’t believe this is coming from a potential VP of the United States”
“Mr Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate to bear children of her own one day”, she added.
“I hope she will not have to turn to IVF as a second option, because you are trying to take that away from her too”
As a Senator for Ohio, Vance voted against the Right to IVF act, which would have overwritten any state efforts to restrict access to the treatment, as well as making it more affordable.
Aniston has been outspoken in the past about her own experience with IVF, a treatment that helps people with fertility problems conceive.
Vance is also staunchly opposed to abortion rights, and has voiced his support of the overturning of Roe v Wade. He has also spoken against exceptions in cases of rape and incest, saying "Two wrongs don't make a right".
