House of Guinness renewed for second season by Netflix
The period drama based on the Guinness family is back for another round.
House of Guinness has been greenlit for a second season, with production to start in 2027.
Created by Stephen Knight and set in 1860's Ireland, the first season centred on the heirs of the brewing dynasty following the death of their patriarch, Benjamin Guinness.
They seek to expand the empire he built, while toxic sibling rivalry and violent political turmoil get in the way.
The cast included Arthur (Anthony Boyle), Edward (Louis Partridge), Anne (Emily Fairn), and Ben (Fionn O'Shea).
It made history as the first title on Netflix to feature official Irish-language subtitles.
With the first season ending on a major cliffhanger involving one of the key characters, many fans had been expecting a second season to be given the green light.
Shortly after the show's release, Knight said he was planning a Peaky Blinders- style expansion for the series.
"We are going to do season two, three and four...we are going to do this all the way to the 1960's," he said.
Given that Knight is currently finishing up the script for the next James Bond film.
