Netflix announces filming of House of Guinness season two

Netflix has announced that filming will commence for House of Guinness season two in January 2027.

The returning cast includes Fionn O’Shea, James Norton, Niamh McCormack, Danielle Galligan, Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Emily Fairn and Ann Skelly.

Created by Stephen Knight (Peaky Blinders) and set in 1860s Ireland, the first season centres on the heirs of the brewing dynasty, following the death of their patriarch, Benjamin Guinness.

It examines the “turbulent power struggle among his four adult children as they fight for control of the global stout empire amidst heavy political unrest,” according to an official summary.

“I can’t wait to dive deeper into these characters and their complex relationships as they expand the Guinness empire,” said Knight. “There’s so much more to find out about them. We’ll see how they grow up … it will be interesting to see what changes and what stays the same.”

The first season of the show ended on a cliff-hanger, with the last sound heard being the blast of a pistol.

“I want people to wonder where that bullet’s going to go,” Knight said. “I’m wondering where that bullet’s going to go.”

Shortly after the show’s release, Knight said he was planning a Peaky Blinders-style expansion for the series.

“We are going to do season two, three and four… we are going to do this all the way to the 1960s,” he said.

The House of Guinness soundtrack also featured a line-up of almost entirely Irish artists, such as KNEECAP, Fontaines D.C., The Mary Wallopers, Thin Lizzy, Lankum, Lisa O'Neill and more.

The news of the filming comes alongside announcements of several other Netflix renewals, including The Gentlemen, Being Gordon Ramsay, Legends and Black Doves, which features Irish actors Ella Lily Hyland and Agnes O’Casey.

“Our audiences loved these shows so it is such a delight to bring them back,” said Anne Mensah, Vice President for UK Content.

House of Guinness season two does not yet have an official release date.
