Glastonbury 2024: KNEECAP , All Of Us Strangers and more announced for cinema tent
Pilton Palais Film Festival reveals its film and guest lineup for 2024, including a Q&A with Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal.
KNEECAP and All of Us Strangers are just two of the many films announced in the lineup for this year's Pilton Palais Film Festival. Held in Glastonbury's free cinema tent, the festival includes live Q&A sessions, introductions, sing-alongs, and special guest appearances.
Irish star Andrew Scott has been announced as the first guest speaker to talk about his most recent one-man show in the West-End production of 'Vanya' for which he received critical acclaim. Scott will return for a second Q&A later in the film festival alongside Irish co-star Paul Mescal, where they'll discuss their most recent film, All of Us Strangers, followed by a film screening.
KNEECAP's autobiographical film of the same name will have a screening. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and was the first film in the Irish language to do so. KNEECAP follows the rise of the hip-hop trio in Belfast, who are played by the band members themselves; the screening will include a Q&A with all three band members and director Rich Peppiatt, who has previously directed Backseat Driver and Grounded. Three more pre-screenings will be shown in this year's festival, they include Despicable Me 4, Unicorns, and Problemista.
Other guest appearances include Cate Blanchett, Florence Pugh, Tilda Swinton and Simon Pegg.
Abigail, a recent Horror film starring up-and-coming Irish actor and Matilda The Musical Star Alisha Weir, will also be shown at the festival on one of the special edition vampire-themed nights. Abigail was filmed in the historic Guinness Manor just outside Dublin and was the last project of the recently deceased Angus Cloud.
