Depeche Mode to release concert film M worldwide

Depeche Mode, along with Trafalgar Releasing and Sony Music Vision, have announced the release of Depeche Mode: M.

The feature film will be released in cinemas and IMAX worldwide for a limited run starting October 28.

Following its premiere at the Tribeca Festival, the film is expected to screen in more than 2,500 theatres across over 60 countries.

The project includes footage from the band’s three sold-out Mexico City shows during their 2023 Memento Mori tour, which over 200,000 fans attended.

"At its core, our new film M is about the deep connection between music, culture, and people," said Depeche Mode frontman Dave Gahan.

"Fernando Frías, who directed and conceived the film, did a beautiful job telling that story through the lens of Mexican culture and our shows in Mexico City”

Frías, known for the 2019 Mexican drama I’m No Longer Here, has won multiple Ariel Awards and was shortlisted for the 2021 Academy Awards for Best International Feature.

“This cinematic experience is a perfect celebration of the Memento Mori tour and the deep connection Depeche Mode has with their global fanbase," added Marc Allenby, CEO of Trafalgar Releasing.

The Memento Mori tour drew over three million fans across 112 shows worldwide and followed the release of Depeche Mode’s 15th studio album in 2023.
