Concert film 'Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning' coming to cinemas
"He wanted to say goodbye and thank you", Sharon Osbourne said of her husband's final performance.
A concert film of Ozzy Osbourne's final performance, Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning, releases on October 28. It documents the farewell show played in Osbourne's hometown Birmingham 17 days before his death.
At the July 5, 2025 show, Ozzy performed solo as well as with the original line-up of Black Sabbath, who hadn't performed together for 20 years. The event also included performances by Alice in Chains, Guns N Roses, Metallica and more.
Both Black Sabbath and Ozzy individually have won a Grammy and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
“Back to the Beginning came about because I asked Ozzy what would really make him happy,” said Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy Osbourne’s wife and manager.
“And he said the only thing that would make him happy was if he could perform again and say goodbye to his fans. That’s all he wanted to do. He wanted to say goodbye and thank you.”
Black Sabbath has been described as the first true heavy metal band, with Osbourne nicknamed 'Prince of Darkness' and 'Godfather of Heavy Metal'.
