A study by a German sex researcher, Dr Werner Habermehl, has found that redheads (that’s moi, folks) have more active sex lives than their blonde and brunette sisters. According to Habermehl, women who colour their hair red are subconsciously signalling that they are on the lookout for a new partner or anxious to upgrade their sex lives. I guess this means the novelist Tom Robbins was right when he suggested red hair was the result of sugar and lust.
Sex versus Shopping
Just when I was feeling smug about being a sexy redhead, the boyfriend produced an article that reported that almost half of South Africa’s women prefer shopping to sex. The survey, carried out by a drinks company, found that 46% of SA’s ladies preferred shopping and felt that the men in their lives did not understand their needs and desires. Only 26% of the respondents preferred a day in the sack to a day at the mall. Thank goodness I was born in Louth!

But one American man got a lot more than he bargained for when airport security queried the penis pump in his luggage. Madin Azad Amin of Illinois was travelling to Turkey with his mother when security got suspicious of his pump. When asked what it was, Amin was too embarrassed to admit that it was a sex aid, so told officials it was a bomb. Amin’s been charged with disorderly conduct and could receive a three-year prison sentence if he’s convicted.

We all know that sex is supposed to be great exercise. But how exactly does it compare with a workout at the gym? Here’s the low-down.
KISSING:
Kissing can burn around 120-325 calories an hour. Pucker up!
UNDRESSING:
Apparently even undressing burns calories. Removing a bra with two hands burns 8 calories. With only one hand it’s trickier and burns up 18 calories. For those talented folk who can do it with their mouths, this burns 87 calories.
MASTURBATION:
Masturbation burns between 100-150 calories. However, for the serious sportsman, a 5-minute vigorous session will get rid of 300 calories.
INTERCOURSE:
On average, we burn between 50 and 100 calories during intercourse. If you have sex 3 times a week burns you’ll burn 7500 calories per year. That’s the about the same as jogging 75 miles. And even better, the more intense the sex, the more calories are burned!
ORGASM:
According to the experts, an orgasm burns between 60-100 calories. All the more reason to become multi-orgasmic!

This week's top sex tip: Peri-what?
The perineum is the area of skin between the genitals and anus. In both men and women, this area is loaded with nerve endings, but its potential is often overlooked.
In women, the perineum is made of the same tissue as the vagina and has similar sensitivity. In men, the perineum contains a central ridge, which is a continuation of the scrotum. Pressure on the perineum can put pressure on the prostate gland internally, making it a good area to stimulate before and during orgasm.
The skin here is soft and sensitive, so begin by rubbing gently. Use the balls of your finger and be careful of how you use your nails. A little lube makes things smoother. If you haven’t done this before, ask your partner to let you know when they are receiving the right amount of pressure and how good it feels.
Licking the perineum is bound to get a good response, but in men, at least, this area tends to be hairy. Get him to dry it carefully after showering and check for loose hairs. Because of the perineum’s proximity to the ass, you would probably want your partner freshly scrubbed anyway!
