Casual sex – it’s a sin
Researchers at the University of Sheffield have found that nine out of ten women think casual sex is immoral. According to Dr Sharron Hinchcliff who presented the findings, most women believe that one-night stands happen because women are looking for love or have lost control due to drink or drugs. The findings suggest that, for some women at least, their attitudes are at odds with their sexual behaviour. Many of the women surveyed had had one-night stands and reported that they do not condemn others for doing so – but still believe that casual sex is wrong.
Make love, not war, online
It had to happen at some point! Multiplayer games are being developed which will allow users to meet, flirt and have sex online. The new games hope to combine the sexuality of single-player games such as VirtuallyJenna and Playboy: The Mansion and the interaction of on-line games. Naughty America: The Game is due for release this summer and Red Light Center is available as a test version.

More Manhood!
Men are never satisfied. A 2005 study by the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) found that 45% of men stated that they would like a larger penis. This was in spite of the fact that 84% of respondents rated their penis size as average to above average (which of course is impossible, unless there’s a significant number of extremely tiny penises out there!). Penis enlargements are apparently an increasingly popular procedure in Ireland. Dissatisfaction with their genitalia seems to be hardwired into the male psyche, as men since time immemorial have tried weird and downright dangerous ways to increase their manhood:
- In northern Uganda men would hang stones from their penises to lengthen them.
- In South America men would allow poisonous lizards to bite their penises to cause them to swell. Some cultures tried a similar trick with bee stings. Ouch!
- Modern penis enlargement kits consist of a hollow tube and a hand operated pump. Such devices have been around since 1900.
- Creams and concoctions of all sorts have been sold as sure-fire ways to enlarge the penis, many of which have included all sorts of nasty ingredients such as manure, mold, yeast, E. coli bacteria, pesticides, and lead. For the most part, pills or ointments offered over the Internet are scams. At best, they promote blood flow to the penis, temporarily resulting in a slightly larger erection.- Just so you know…. The same study by UCLA found that 85% of women were “very satisfied” with the size of their partner’s penis.
RIP Bob Carlos Clarke
Cork-born photographer Bob Carlos Clarke passed away on 25th March after accidentally falling in front of a train. Let’s be honest, sex with the same person, in the same place, using the same techniques can get a little dull. Sometimes the hottest sex is spontaneous, unexpected and urgent. Obviously you can’t plan to be spontaneous – but you can add a genuine sense of urgency and passion to sexual encounters.
One of the easiest ways to create a sense of urgency is to have sex that has a definite time limit. Quickies, particularly somewhere you are not supposed to be, are an easy way to up the passion. However, if risking getting caught in public is not your thing, try having sex just before you need to leave the house, or before guests arrive.
Here is one of my favourite games:
Your partner and you should be on the way out with friends. Once everyone is in the car, you announce that you can’t find your house keys/wallet/glasses. You return to the house to look for them, and your partner offers to help you. You now have a maximum of five minutes to have sex before the people you have left in the car start to get restless and come and look for you.
The great thing about this is that if you are brave enough, this basic game can be adapted to any situation and any excuse that allows you and your partner a few minutes alone can be used. Because of the time limits, full penetrative sex may not be possible, but that’s fine. A few minutes of kissing, foreplay or oral sex is well worth it. You can disappear a number of times over the course of any evening, each time getting more intimate with each other. By the time you finally get enough time to have sex, you’ll both be extremely horny!
