Nick Cave and Warren Ellis to score new drama, Hell or High Water
The Bad Seeds musicians are to score the soundtrack for forthcoming film Hell or High Water
Nick Cave and Warren Ellis have composed the score for action drama Hell or High Water
"What I love about Nick and Warren’s film music is that it’s epic and expansive without being grandiose. For me as a filmmaker this hits a sweet spot where the score is able to have scale and emotion but not feel manipulative or overwhelming.", said director, David Mackenzie in a statement on the Cave/Ellis score.
The film, staring Jeff Bridges, is a story of a collision between the past and the modern day in the American South. Two brothers, played by Star Trek star Chris Pine and Ben Foster, team up to rob the bank that is foreclosing on their family land.
Cave and Ellis have collaborated on film scores in the past includingThe Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and Lawless.
Hell or High Water is set for release August 12.
