The highlights of Laura Pyper's year.
BEST MOVIE?
Without a doubt it was Crash. It’s not a fun movie to watch but I found it to be one of the most amazing I’ve ever seen.
BEST RECORD?
I discovered Joanna Newsom this year. She’s so brilliant, I think she’s amazing. My friend discribed her as the Marmite of music, you either love her or you hate her.
BEST BOOK?
I’m going to say Jackie Collins, I’m a big Jackie Collins fan. I was kind of reading for fun this year because I was working a lot. It was Hollywood Divorcees or something like that.
BEST TV PROGRAMME?
I really enjoyed cookery shows this year, especially Jamie Oliver’s School Dinners. But it’s a toss-up between him and Gordon Ramsay, I love seeing him fighting with everyone.
HERO OF 2005?
My hero has to be my mum. She’s my hero of every year, but this has been a funny one and she’s come out of it really brilliantly.
VILLAIN OF 2005?
The people responsible for the London bombs.
BEST THING ABOUT THIS YEAR?
Without a doubt it was joining Hex (Sky's supernatural drama) and meeting some lovely friends. It was a really great job to be involved in and I’ve made friends for life from it.
BEST PERSONAL MOMENT?
Just getting my job with Hex, it’s been fantastic.
FUNNY THING ABOUT 2005?
My boyfriend who constantly makes me laugh, he tickles my funnybone a lot!
HOPE FOR NEXT YEAR?
To have a lot of fun and to work really hard. I started off this year selling perfumes in Selfridges, and within a couple of months I was killing demons on TV. So I’ve learned never to give up. Life changes very quickly and can surprise you.
