Gang of Youths to kick off upcoming tour with Dublin show
The upcoming tour will be supporting the release of Gang of Youths third studio album Angel in Realtime.
Australian band Gang of Youths will be kicking off their upcoming tour with a show at Dublin's Button Factory on March 3rd, 2022.
The group has also announced the release date for their new album Angel in Realtime. The LP, published by Warner Records, will be available on February 25th.
This will be the Sydney-based outfit's third studio album, following sophomore record Go Farther in Lightness, which climbed to number one on the Australian charts. The group was founded by Dave Le'aupepe in 2012, alongside original guitarist Joji Malani and drummer Sam O'Donnell.
“The album is about the life and legacy of Dave's father, indigenous identity, death, grief and God. And also the Angel, Islington,” Gang of Youths write.
Ahead of the release of Angel in Realtime, the five-piece outfit has released several singles, including their newest song ‘tend the garden’. On December 1st, the band made their second US Tv appearance performing the angel of 8th ave.'' on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
“I hope the record stands as a monument to the man my father was and remains long after I’m gone myself. He deserved it,” said Dave Le’aupepe.
Gang of Youths have opened for the likes of Mumford and Sons and the Foo Fighters and are currently touring the UK with Sam Fender.
Tickets for their Button Factory show are not yet available, but you can join the waiting list to be alerted when they are released by clicking here.
