Ellen Page Ties The Knot
The actress has announced that she's married her partner Emma Portner who appeared in the music video for Justin Bieber’s song ‘Life Is Worth Living’.
Ellen first announced that she was in a relationship with Emma back in 2015. Portner, who is a professional dancer has now taken to Instagram (see below) to show off her wedding ring. She wrote: "Can’t believe I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife.”
Ellen Page came out in 2014 at a Human Rights Campaign’s Time to Thrive conference.
At the time she said, "I’m here today because I am gay and because maybe I can make a difference, to help others have an easier and more hopeful time. Regardless, for me, I feel a personal obligation and a social responsibility.”
She added: “I am tired of hiding and I am tired of lying by omission,” she continued. “I suffered for years because I was scared to be out. My spirit suffered, my mental health suffered and my relationships suffered. And I’m standing here today, with all of you, on the other side of all that pain.”
