Actress Emma Watson on the dangers of social media.
Emma Watson, known for her role as Hermione in the Harry Potter-series and more recently for her role as Belle in the Beauty and the Beast-remake, elaborates on the dangers of social media.
Social media is a tool and as any tool, the decision on how to use it is key. “A lot of children of this generation have their entire lives made public before they have a say about what they would want. I think it should always be a choice,” she says: “I love social media, and I love what it can do and how it brings people together, but used in the wrong way, it's incredibly dangerous.”
Emma acknowledges the grip social media has on people. She, herself, has a wide follower base on multiple platforms and states it can be very addictive.
"I set even more boundaries than I had before between my public and my private lives. It made me think a lot about what I would do if I had children,"
So, moderation is key. Try to find a balance in using social media so that you’re in control of how it influences your life, not the other way around.
