Acclaimed artist Friz hosts her first ever solo exhibition in Bangor this week
The Sligo-bred, Bangor-based creative’s collection runs from March 26 to May 9.
Insanely talented visual artist Friz – or Marian Noone to her nearest and dearest – has announced her debut exhibition. Kicking off this Thursday, March 26, at Seacourt Print Workshop in Bangor, TROVE explores themes of creation and death and costume and ceremony.
Perhaps best known to Hot Press readers for her stunning murals inspired by Ash’s iconic single ‘Girl From Mars’ and the out-of-this-world, astronaut-featuring piece dedicated to Snow Patrol, her work has been showcased in Ireland, the UK, Colombia, Poland, France, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina and Turkey.
This past year, Friz has been dedicating time to her studio practice. The culmination of which is TROVE, a new collection of paintings responding to archetypes and imagery found in religion, mythology and story-telling.
Sure to be a must see exhibition for both culture vultures and the curious, the collection opens this Thursday from 6-9pm at Seacourt Print Workshop, Bangor and runs until Saturday May 9.
The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 9:30am-5pm, and 11am to 5pm on Saturdays. TROVE is supported by the National Lottery through the Arts Council Of Northern Ireland.
