2025 Conference of the International Yeats Society to commence next week
Attendees will gather to celebrate the work of acclaimed Dublin author W.B. Yeats.
The 2025 Conference of the International Yeats Society is set to take place from October 30 to November 1 at Trinity College.
The International Yeats Society is an academic organisation which binds Yeats societies all around the world. This year's conference allows fans of W.B. Yeats to appreciate his work in the city where much of it is based.
The annual conference also allows academics to present their work and promote the study of Yeats, as well as Irish literature and culture in a global context.
This year's conference hosted at Trinity College will include sign-up sessions, including a drama workshop: The Joys of Not Knowing – Discovering Yeats’s Unpublished Play, a library special collections visit: The Cuala Press Collection and a visit to the Yeats Room in the Provost’s House.
Keynote speakers will include P.J. Mathews, a professor of Irish literature, drama and culture at University College Dublin, where he is also the director of the Creative Futures Academy. He was academic director of the W. B. Yeats Winter School in Sligo from 2017 until 2020.
Emilie Morinis, a professor of modern literature at the University of York will also speak the conference. Her publications on Yeats include a special issue of International Yeats Studies on Yeats and Mass Communications, co-edited with David Dwan.
