Philip Lynott Exhibition hailed by Rocktopia

It's been described as "stunning" by Rob McKenzie.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 27 Apr 2012

The Philip Lynott Exhibition has been hailed by Rob McKenzie of Rocktopia as "a stunning exhibition dedicated to the life of a rock legend."

The exhibition, which ran for eight months in Dublin, and was widely acclaimed, is now showing at the British Music Experience in the O2, in London.

"Rarely have I used the words 'must see'," McKenzie adds. "However, the newly arrived and huge tribute to Phil Lynott truly deserves this praise."

The review reflects the generally ecstatic reaction to the exhibition in London to date.

"The response on the ground has been brilliant," says Peter Emmet, who is managing the exhibition for Hot Press, who designed and curated it. "Everyone who has been through it has been singing its praises. But it is great to get this kind of reaction because so much work went into making the Philip Lynott Exhibition happen."

In what is a very detailed review, McKenzie describes the exhibition in vivid close-up.

"Pride of place," he says, "was the Thin Lizzy family tree, surrounded by rarities such as personal letters, hotel bills and photos galore and of course the majestic Thin Lizzy chrome and lights sign. One item which caught my attention was an early Seventies´ tour schedule: one day Swindon the next day Middlesbrough for not a lot of money."

Indeed! And that's just the start of what is a fantastic journey through the life and times of one of the great rock'nroll romantics.

"I highly recommend this exhibition," the Rocktopia man concludes. "The only warning is you could spend all day there!"
