The Electric Picnic mainman is one of four Government appointees
Electric Picnic and Tripod supremo John Reynolds has been appointed by the Government to sit on the newly established Broadcasting Authority of Ireland Compliance Committee.
“The Compliance Committee will require all broadcasters, public or private, to comply with their licence conditions, broadcasting codes and rules,” reads their mission statement. “New codes in relation to children’s advertising, among others, will be introduced under the Broadcasting Act.”
Chaired by NUI Maynooth professor Chris Morash, the Compliance Committee’s other political appointees are communications consultant Edel Hackett and Aidine O’Reilly, a former member of Peel favourites The Would-Be’s whose Real Event Solutions company has been involved in the running of the Murphy’s Live competition and the Cork X Southwest Music and Arts Festival in County Cork. Four other people will sit on the committee – two of them Authority members, and the others BAI staff.
As previously reported on hotpress.com, Early Bird tickets for the Picnic went on sale today at the 2009 price of €199.
