Forget Me Nots: “Five O’Clock Train” (Edible Records)
It’s rare to hear a tune dealing with the details of an arranged date without any irony or cynicism these days but that’s exactly what ‘Five O’Clock Train’ manages to document: its tongue longs to be entwined with another’s rather than, as is so boringly common nowadays, being too firmly lodged up its own sardonic cheek. Funnily enough, the somewhat naive sixties pop feel of the music reiterates the impression of clever but willing innocence and Michelle Burrowes’ vocals fondly capture the nostalgia of a past romance.
