Well, if you're sitting in the studio and time and money are a-wastin' and your circus animals have well and truly deserted, why not concoct a punky thrash around the life of a commercially unsuccessful Factory recording artiste? But make it entertaining, please! Whatever Ms. Carroll is up to these days, it has to be more vital to the continuing existence of the human race than this self-consciously wacky 'tribute', which is about as interesting as my cousin's record-breaking collection of weird and wonderful car seat covers.
