Irish musicians N.I.A.M.H. and Defcon are among the sixty applicants selected for the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy in Toronto, Canada.
DJs Niamh McCartney and Connor Dougan were selected from tens of thousands of applicants from over 30 different coutries.
For four weeks between September 23 and October 26, they'll be surrounded by oodles of high-end music production equipment and rub shoulders with industry giants and like-minded musicians.
Their days will be spent working in studios and swapping schemes with enthusiasts, while their nights will be occupied hours of live broadcasts on Red Bull Music Academy Radio. It's a unique and inspiring opportunity, and we wish them every success.

The Red Bull Music Academy takes place in a different city each year. Previous settings have included New York, Berlin and Dublin, and the idea is to instruct young musicians on the intricacies of music-making and on the vagaries of the business through public workshops and lectures, as well as giving them an opportunity to mingle.
Previous Irish selections include Irish jazz/electronica merchant Daniel Jacobson, who attended the 2006 Academy in Melbourne, so McCartney and Dougan are in fine company indeed.
