Limerick’s Daragh Dukes has announced details of his second album as Headgear.
The LP, entitled Flight Cases is themed album based on “the human condition, the fear of flying and the desire & struggle to make a leap of faith.”
It’s also a departure from his first record, as Mr Dukes himself explains: "The debut album set the goalposts for the type of music I wanted to make," Daragh says. "With Flight Cases I wanted to narrow the focus and give Headgear a more recognisable sound with more defined songs. I wanted to put the songs up front, and showcase them rather than hide them with instrumentation."
Produced and recorded in his home in Castleconnell, Limerick, over a three month period in 2006, it will be unveiled on April 27.
He’ll be supporting the release with a tour that visits:
Roisin Dubh, Galway – May 10
Trinity Rooms, Limerick – 11
McGarrigles, Sligo – 12
Cyprus Avenue, Cork – 14
Lavery’s Bunker, Belfast – 15
Spirit Store, Dundalk – 16
Crawdaddy, Dublin - 17
