Debut EP from Rod
One of Ireland's most promising electronic artists releases his debut EP, All My Love, at the end of January.
Over the last couple of years Rod's work has been released on various compilations from leftfield record labels such as Neo Ouija, Underscan & Dublin- based Front End Synthetics, and on the strength of these his debut solo outing, the All My Love EP, has been highly anticipated. Well, it'll be out on January 25 and it's a co- release from FES and Berlin's Underscan Records.
After many years of studying piano and drums, and a teenage love affair with breakbeat (Rod's old band once even played the Point Depot), Rod has grown musically to such an extent that he has been compared to Boards of Canada and Nightmares on Wax. The EP also features a remix from Dublin's Spectac.
If you don't believe the hype just check out these reviews:
"Simply put, 'All My Love' is so divine it might have dropped from heaven.." (textura.org)
"Bass is a wonderful thing. Rod proves it. 'All my love' is an outstanding track. A slowly evaporating melody unfolding on some delicate electronica noises and beats..." (monochrom.at)
