Ulster says Mo!

We always said that Mo Mowlam rocked and now she's gone and proved it by agreeing to chair the Kerrang! bid for the new Belfast radio licence.

Kerrang! is part of the EMAP Consumer Media stable whose editor-in-chief is former Hot Press stringer Barry McIlheney.

A regular Slane attendee, Mowlam says: "Belfast is on the move. It's an exciting time for the city changing everyday. We have to encourage investment and new enterprises to continue this new age of optimism. A new commercial radio station can be a valuable part of that."

Kerrang! Belfast is proposing a different blend of music to its existing English operation, with Queen, U2, Ash, The Rolling Stone and Snow Patrol cited as the type of artists they'll play.
