You’re The One

Christmas without Shane MacGowan is like Dustin without the cranberry sauce. It kind of sticks in the throat. The contrast between Maire Brennan’s barely there vocals and MacGowan’s bawdy slur gives this sentimental, whisky-soaked ballad a flavour of it’s own. B-side ‘Christmas Lullaby’ is a swaggering sing-a-long gem of instrumentation while ‘That Woman’s Got Me Drinking’ sees Shane counting his way through no less than ten bottles of gin. Go Shane.
