WATCH: First trailer for new Juice WLRD documentary from HBO out now
Juice WRLD: Into The Abyss will look at the life and untimely death of the hip-hop artist.
The first trailer for the new HBO documentary about the life and career of Juice WLRD, Juice WRLD: Into The Abyss, has just been released.
Airing Thursday, December 16, on the American premium cable channel's streaming service, it will be the final instalment in the network's Music Box anthology. Previous films in the series included documentaries about Woodstock '99, Alanis Morissette, Kenny G and the late DMX.
The Alanis Morissette feature, Jagged, was controversial when it was released due to the singer denouncing the project, saying that it "includes implications and facts that are simply not true".
"When you're a fan of this shit, you look at it from a certain perspective," Juice WRLD says in a clip from the trailer.
"But when you're in it, you see it for what it really is. I'm still happy I could change the world, but… It's not what it looks like."
Juice WRLD (real name Jarad Higgins) passed away in late 2019 after a seizure at the age of 21. On January 22, 2020, Cook County Medical Examiner stated that Higgins died due to toxic levels of oxycodone and codeine present in his system.
Since then, two posthumous albums have been released in the Chicago rapper's name, Legends Never Die and 2021's Fighting Demons.
