Never ones to disappoint, the Dublin trio made every effort to impress during their three electric homecoming shows at the weekend in Dublin’s 3Arena.
On Friday night, none other than Aslan’s Christy Dignam joined them on stage, bringing the house down with the legendary hit ‘Crazy World’, a highlight of the night. Watch the performance here:
Friday also saw The Script joined by the High Hopes Choir on the band’s latest single ‘Arms Open’, to great applause.
On Saturday, the final night, The Hit Machine took to the stage with all twenty-two members beating their drum to the The Script’s anthem ‘Paint the Town Green’.
Speaking after the Dublin shows The Script said in a joint statement, "We wanted to have special moments that felt different every night for our audience.
"The High Hopes Choir really help us shine a light on the homeless situation in Ireland, all of whom have been affected by homelessness.
"Being able to invite them on our stage and sing our song 'Arms Open' with us really help us drive that point home."
"Having Dublin's own homegrown legend Christy Dignam, join us for a rendition of 'Crazy World' on night two was the pinnacle for all of us.
"We didn't know how we could top that, so on the final night we decided to bring in The Hit Machine to give the audience a fully immersive musical experience.
"Fair play to the lads, who rolled with the punches and our mad creativity, to help us turn around two performances, 'Paint The Town Green' and 'Hall Of Fame' in just a soundcheck before the show."
"It was amazing to see so many people from all over the World come and see us play a hometown show, because there's nowhere else in the World that they'll feel more at home than in Dublin City."
The Freedom Child tour continues this week with stops across the UK. The Irish three-piece will play another eight dates in the UK and wrap the run at London’s O2 Arena. www.ticketmaster.co.uk / www.ticketmaster.ie
