WATCH: Bono, Imelda May & Glen Hansard lead Dublin Busk
Watch back and donate to Dublin Simon as they help the homeless at Christmas!
The capital was alive alive oh! last night as over thirty musicians gathered for the annual charity Dublin Busk. Among them were Bono, Glen Hansard, The Riptide Movement, Shobsy, Imelda May, Stephen James Smith, Danny O'Reilly from The Coronas and The Script's Danny O'Donoghue.
The gig started 15 years ago as an impromptu busking session on Grafton Street. It has since evolved into an official event outside the Gaiety Theatre, raising money for the homelessness charity Dublin Simon Community.
Glen Hansard opened the livestreamed concert, while Bono joined Imelda May later on in the evening to sing a rendition of ' Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)'.
Thousands of fans joined in with the festivities which helped raise funds for Dublin Simon and the crucial work they do at this time of year. You can watch back and donate at https://www.dubsimon.ie/the-busk
The main action happened outside the Gaiety Theatre, but spilled into the surrounding streets. There was a particularly massive cheer when Imelda wished Shane MacGowan "Happy Birthday for tomorrow!" and the gang burst into 'Fairytale Of New York'. There were plenty of smiles and even more tears as the great man was remembered...
