Viola Beach headed for posthumous UK No. 1
The Warrington band, who so tragically lost their lives in February, look set to claim top spot
Viola Beach look set to claim a posthumous UK No. 1 this week.
The Warrington band's self-titled debut currently leads the way, in what would be a beautiful if bittersweet triumph. The quartet – Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe, and Jack Dakin – along with their manager, Craig Tarry, died in Sweden in February, when their tourbus plunged from a bridge.
The hotly-tipped outfit had played in Dublin just weeks earlier, with their impressive performance in support of Blossoms at The Academy further proof of their immense potential.
In June, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin took time during their Glastonbury Pyramid Stage set to pay tribute, playing a video of the band's single 'Boys That Sing' before joining in; give that a watch below.
