Van Morrison to release album on jazz album

Van Morrison christens his new deal with legendary jazz label Blue Note Records with the October 21 release of What's Wrong With This Picture?

The Ulsterman's 30th studio album, it was recorded in Bath and Dublin and features 'Whinin' Boy Moan', 'Evening In June', 'Too Many Myths', 'Somerset', 'Meaning Of Loneliness', 'Stop Drinking', 'Goldfish Bowl', 'Once In A Blue Moon', 'Saint James Infirmary', 'Little Village', 'Fame', 'Get On With The Show' and the title-track.

According to a well-placed source: "There are some jazzy moments on it but unlike How Long Has This Been Going On? and Tell Me Something, which were pure be bop, there are also plenty of R'n'B references including that cover of Lightnin' Hopkins' 'Stop Drinking'."
