Juliet Turner finds a fan in Terry Wogan, and is set to crack the UK top 100 albums chart
Juliet Turner is poised to break in to the UK Top 100 and it's all thanks to Terry Wogan!
"Terry got 'Take The Money & Run' from the record company, loved it and got his producer, Paul Walters, to email Juliet to find out more about her," explains Turner's manager Derek Nally. "We got a copy of the Burn The Black Suit album to him, and as a result he's been playing 'I Hope I Don't Fall In Love' off the air."
Wogan's championing of the Omagh songstress had immediate results with Burn The Black Suit reaching number four on the Amazon.co.uk sales chart.
"I don't exactly remember but it was something like Norah Jones at number one, Coldplay at two, the Chili Peppers at three and Juliet at four," Nally continues. "We're selling somewhere in the region of 1,000 copies a week in the UK, which is good going for an album that's been out there for over a year."
As a result of the surge, Turner currently stands at number 112 on the official UK album chart.
"As luck and perfect timing would have it, she's doing support on Joan Armatrading's UK and Irish tour which includes the Royal Albert Hall in London on April 25th and Vicar St. on the 26th and 27th," Nally enthuses. "I'm confident that we can get into the top 100 and from there, who knows?"
Meanwhile, fans hungry for new material will be pleased to hear that Turner's next album is fully written and ready to be recorded in a couple of months.
