Up-and-coming Galway bands Talllon and Groev added to Momentum Festival lineup
The two hotly-tipped local acts complete an all-Irish bill that also includes Scratch, Cliffords, and Madra Salach
Momentum has finalised its lineup for its inaugural festival in Oranmore, Galway, this May bank holiday weekend, with a pair of rising Irish acts added to the bill.
Alt-rock four piece Talllon and indie-folk band Groev, both Galway-based, will support The Scratch, Cliffords and Madra Salach on Monday, May 4.
The additional support acts announced today join previously-revealed special guests The Riptide Movement and Tracy Bruen (supporting The Stunning Friday, May 1), and Calum Agnew and Oscar Blue (supporting The Coronas on Sunday, May 3).

“A huge part of the impetus behind Momentum is the drive that co-founders Cian Burke and Trevor Cullinane have to support both local and up-and-coming artists," said Momentum’s Commercial Director Olivia Breene. "As a festival, we’re committed to championing rising talent across Ireland, with a strong focus on elevating our local Galway scene and giving artists a platform to grow beyond it - which is why we’re so delighted to welcome Galway bands Talllon and Groev to The Crescendo Tent, as well as Oscar Blue, Calum Agnew, Tracey Bruen and The Riptide Movement - all of whom are just incredible opening acts for us to have during our first year.
"It’s so important to us that Momentum helps create opportunities for artists at the start of their careers and continues to support them as they grow.”
Set to run for four days (May 1 to 4) in Oranmore, Co. Galway, this year marks the first edition of the outdoor music festival.
In addition to headline shows mentioned above, Saturday, May 2, is being billed as the festival's 'Big Day Out', featuring B*witched, D:Ream, Rednex, Mark McCabe and more.
Set in Galway’s Wild Atlantic Way village of Oranmore, one of Ireland’s fastest-growing towns, Momentum Festival draws on a catchment of approximately 75,000 people. All performances will take place under The Crescendo Tent, a tented live music space with a nightly capacity of 4,200.
Tickets are sold on a day-by-day basis and are available here.
