Tunes from Lisdoon...

Donal Lunny has curated a Definitive Lisdoonvarna compilation which is released through Warners on June 13.

"I had the good fortune to be at the last three Lisdoons in the capacity of in-house soundmixer, as well as playing with Planxty and Moving Hearts," Lunny says. "This put me in close touch with the running of the event. The most difficult part of assembling this compilation has been trying to stay within the limits of what a CD can hold. I could only make the choices by promising myself there will be a Volume 2 and even 3."

It's certainly a value-for-money package with a track apiece from Planxty, The Chieftains, Moving Hearts, Emmylou Harris, Phil Lynott, Christy Moore, John Martyn, Richard & Linda Thompson, Andy Irvine, Rory Gallagher, Jackson Browne, Paul Brady, Davy Spillane, Freddie White, Scullion, Clannad and Van Morrison & The Chieftains.
