Scotland’s biggest music festival returns next summer with a star-studded bill of talent, with more artists to be announced. Tickets for the three-day event go on sale this Friday, November 24.
TRNSMT Festival, which sees thousands of music fanatics flood Glasgow Green each summer, will return for its seventh year next summer with a hotly-tipped lineup of freshly announced artists.
The three-day festival will take place in Glasgow Green on July 12-14, 2024, with tickets on sale from 9.00am on Friday, November 24, and presale live from 5.00pm on Wednesday. Last year’s festival attracted around 150,000 people to Scotland’s capital city, so make sure to get in line to snatch tickets before they sell out!
Leading up to ticket day, TRNSMT has shared its first wave of artists as part of next year’s lineup, boasting some big-name headliners and exciting rising acts.
Some of Ireland’s hottest acts will make their TRNSMT debuts in 2024. Off the back of supporting Ed Sheeran during his 2023 tour, soulful singer-songwriter Cian Ducrot is set to grace Glasgow Green next summer.
Other acts include The Snuts, Declan McKenna, Blossoms, Baby Queen, Tom Grennan, Sugababes, Rick Astley, Garbage and The Last Dinner Party. The full line-up of acts announced so far is available on the TRNSMT app, with more to be announced soon.
English rock icon Liam Gallagher will headline the main stage on Day 1, celebrating the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ iconic first offering Definitely Maybe by playing the album in full.
Talking about his festival plans, Gallagher said, “Can’t wait to return to Glasgow Green next Summer to headline TRNSMT. I’ll be playing songs from Definitely Maybe as well as some solo stuff. See you there.”
Example will also bring the energy to Friday, headlining the King Tut’s Stage before girlband icons Sugababes take over.
Known for his triumphant live shows, Gerry Cinnamon will return to the TRNSMT main stage for the first time since 2019, where he left a memorable mark. The artist shared, “Get hounded on the daily to do TRNSMT again, well hound no more.”
To top it all off, Scottish electronic legend Calvin Harris returns to his homeland for a highly anticipated weekend closing set.
In other exciting news, the festival plans to bring back the River Stage and Boogie Wonderland, in addition to King Tut’s Stage. TRNSMT will offer a range of VIP experiences, which festival-goers can learn more about via the event’s website.
Speaking on the announcement, Geoff Ellis, Festival Director of TRNSMT, said, “After welcoming one of the best crows TRNSMT has ever seen in 2023, we can’t wait to have everyone back for the seventh year of incredible live music.
“We’ve created the dream lineup for a lot of our TRNSMT fans and there are plenty more acts to be announced - but we couldn’t wait to reveal festival favourites Liam Gallagher, Gerry Cinnamon and Calvin Harris, who are kicking off our biggest lineup yet.
“Next year is expected to be a sell-out, so get your hands on tickets now to avoid disappointment.”
