Tracy Chapman's self-titled debut album hits 30th anniversary
The album was released by Elektra Records and recorded in Hollywood.
Originally released on the 5th of April back in 1988, Tracy Chapman's first album is still going strong three decades later.
Containing iconic hits such as Fast Car and Talkin' 'Bout a Revolution, the album rose rapidly through the charts and topped the along with much success overseas.
Just one week after release, the album sold over 1 million copies.
Now, the album has sold over 18 million copies and been streamed online over 435 million times. It is also one of the first albums by a female artist to sell over 1 million copies in such a short amount of time.

It also holds its place as the top 10th most sold album in Ireland.
