Track Of The Day: RVSTLESS – 'Wanna Be Free'
Stephen McCann's latest project found its feet through the 2020 lockdown.
Having been a regular on the Irish festival circuit, playing the likes of Electric Picnic, Body&Soul – as well as Latitude in the UK – former TooFools member Stephen McCann has stepped out on his own with RVSTLESS' debut single 'Wanna Be Free'
He's also toured extensively as a session musician, but thankfully his debut EP as RVSTLESS is well and truly on the way now, with this smooth and soulful tune trumpeting his arrival. The funk-tinged cut is accompanied by a DIY video, made with a vision to brighten the future.
"'Wanna Be Free' is completely inspired by the current situation in Ireland," explains RVSTLESS. "Everyone is essentially stuck in their particular county, only allowed travel 5km & this song just represents wanting to live life and be free of very tough restrictions. It was fully recorded, written, mixed & mastered in my home studio to give people some hope for the future ahead!"
