Track of the Day: Filmore! - 'BOSS MUSIC'
Check out the whacky video game inspired track below
Dublin Fringe award-winning creative Filmore! has returned with new single 'BOSS MUSIC' (feat. Twin Pumpkin) today.
'BOSS MUSIC' encompasses the energy and adrenaline of reaching the final level of a video game particularly harking back to the days of Crash Bandicoot and Final Fantasy VII.
The arcade-infused track pairs elements of Screamo from Brazillian artist Twin Pumpkin with Filmore!'s signature thumping Hyperpop sensibility.
Produced by creative partner ‘racecarbed’, 'BOSS MUSIC' is an uncompromising alt hip-hop/punk track featuring Twin Pumpkin, the brainchild of Brazilian artist and producer Izzy Castro, who has garnered over 8 million Spotify streams and collaborated with renowned Brazilian acts such as Fresno, Far From Alaska, and Lenine.
The track showcases Filmore!'s unique fusion of thumping basslines, hyperpop and ear-shattering screamo - refusing to be bound to a single genre and continuing to lean into the absurdity of today’s world. Filmore! aims for excitement in his insane creations by melding juxtaposed genres in true punk fashion, all the while threading concepts and storylines through his music.
Of this single, Filmore! shares: "You know when you're after finishing a game and you're able to start again but in new game + mode? Like you have all your stats and knowledge from the previous playthrough and you're basically unstoppable. That's what kinda time we're on..."
