Track of the Day: Orchid Collective - 'FORCES'

The indie band are making waves despite only having played together for two years.

Dublin-based but comprised of members from each corner of the country, Orchid Collective have returned ahead of their upcoming tour of Ireland, the UK and Germany with their new single 'FORCES'. The song is a follow-up to their previous offering 'Otherside', which performed more than well in its own right, being playlisted across RTE 2FM, RTE Radio One and a total of 3 Spotify Official Playlists, as well as receiving air-time on BBC Six as Tom Robinson's Fresh Faves and recently featuring on an episode in the current season of Made In Chelsea.

The quartet wield impressive numbers as a result, with 'Otherside' averaging over 2,000 streams on Spotify a day, which is rapidly contributing further towards their overall number that now stands at over half a million.

'FORCES' looks likely to follow in a similar vein; another example of the DIY indie they're fast becoming known for. Their swaying melodies seamlessly combine with buzzing instrumentation to create another indie anthem for their growing catalogue.

Orchid Collective made strides last year into building their reputation as a must-see live act, performing over 50 times in Ireland alone as well as playing Y Not Festival, supporting Picture This and making their UK debut. They'll be building on this with a host of tour dates across the next couple of months to coincide with the release of 'FORCES'. After already playing Auster Club in Berlin last weekend, they'll be taking their show back home for a handful of gigs across the country before setting off to the UK.
