Tony Bennett's son pays tribute to his father
Tony Bennett’s career covered eight decades. He won 20 Grammy awards, including a lifetime achievement award. He also sold more than 50 million records globally.
Tony Bennett‘s son D’Andrea “Danny” Bennett has paid tribute to his late father, who passed away in New York City on Friday at 96 years of age.
In an interview with People , Danny Bennett, who was also Tony’s manager, said that his father “imbued the essence of the American dream”.
“He taught us all that remarkable opportunities will reveal themselves and that anything is possible when you stick by your passion, believe in yourself and dedicate your life to quality,” Danny added.
“He and I experienced an amazing journey together as father and son, and I’m simply proud and humble to have been a small part of his legacy.”

Danny had been Tony’s manager since 1979. He is credited with reviving his father’s career following various financial and substance abuse problem’s in the late 70s.

His final studio recording was in 2021, when he worked on Love For Sale, a joint album with longtime collaborator Lady Gaga.
