Tina Turner tribute act Rebecca O'Connor announces Dublin show
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 31 at 10.00am.
Rebecca O’Connor as Tina Turner - Simply the Best is due to perform at Dublin’s 3Olympia on Saturday, May 24.
In 2002, Cork’s Rebecca O’Connor won the TV competition Stars In Their Eyes as Tina Turner. O’Connor has continued to perform as Turner, touring with a band and her dancers, the Rebeccettes.
“When I first heard Tina it was like a volcano went off inside me," O’Connor said. "I knew then this amazing woman would influence me forever.”
O’Connor has played sold-out shows across European tours for over 10 years, performing renditions of Turner's iconic hits - ‘Private Dancer’, ‘Simply the Best’ , ‘River Deep’ and more. Turner, before her death in 2023, endorsed O’Connor’s act, saying: “Rebecca is so good, it’s scary.”
Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac described her as “way beyond a tribute act… She is an amazing singer and performer in her own right, I was mesmerized.”
Tickets go on sale Friday, January 31 at 10.00am. Prices start at €39.90.
