Theo Katzman announces solo show in Dublin
Tickets go on sale Friday, February 27.
Theo Katzman has announced a solo show taking place at the Button Factory, Dublin, on June 16.
The American singer-songwriter's show is part of his Solo Uk & Europe tour, which will kick off in Stockholm, Sweden, on June 1.
Katzman's most recent release is the single ‘Lisa Never Wanted To Be Famous’. The track is a collaboration with Vulfpeck bandmate Cory Wong.
"This is a song about reclaiming one's one story from the exterior to the interior," wrote Katzman. " Who are we, when we free ourselves of our story of what we think other people think of us?"
Following the release of his latest studio album, Be the Wheel (2023), Katzman released live album, Live from the Other Side (2024).
The same year Be the Wheel was released, Katzman was interviewed by Hot Press.
"I've spent a lot of time in Ireland over the years," said Katzman. "I first came to Ireland when I was 19 and was travelling with a friend who was a traditional musician over there.
"We got to explore the whole country. It's one of my favourite places in the world - it feels like home to me, to be honest."
Since 2011, Katzman has been recording and playing with Michigan-based funk/soul band Vulfpeck. In 2014, the band released Sleepify, a silent album that exposed a loophole in Spotify's royalty distributions and that funded an admission-free tour. The band is also one of the first to sell out Madison Square Garden without a manager or a backing label.
Elsewhere, Katzman began his own record label, Ten Good Songs.
Tickets will be available here on February 27.
