The Weeknd pulls out of Rihanna's ANTI World Tour
Irish fans planning to catch the Canadian star in the Aviva Stadium will be disappointed
The Weeknd has pulled out of Rihanna's ANTI tour, it has been confirmed.
With a June 21 date in the Aviva scheduled, the Barbadian pop princess will be without the Canadian superstar, as his involvement in the entire 25-date European jaunt has been cancelled.
Why exactly the A.F.K.A. Abel Tesfaye won't be on the continental trip remains something of a mystery; details, as yet, are a bit thin on the ground. Promoters Live Nation, however, have confirmed the news with a brief statement.
Their missive reads: 'Due to some unforeseen changes with upcoming projects, The Weeknd will no longer be joining Rihanna on her upcoming international Anti World Tour.'
Since topping the charts with 'Can't Feel My Face' last summer, Big Abel has built up quite the fanbase, so we're sure there'll be more than a few disappointed fans; here's hoping a solo date or festival appearance might pop up by way of consolation.
