Their debut album So Much For The City has been nominated for this year's prize
The Thrills are the only Irish contenders for this year’s Mercury Music Prize, with the announcement today that their debut album So Much For The City has made the shortlist.
The Dublin quintet will go up against big guns as Radiohead and Coldplay to take the hefty cash prize that was picked up last year by Ms Dynamite for her album A Little Deeper.
Also up for nomination this year are Athlete, The Darkness, Dizzee Rascal, Lemon Jelly, Terri Walker, Floetry, Martina Topley-Bird, Soweto Kinch and Eliza Carthy.
