The Thrills nominated for 'Best MTV2' act

There's more good news for The Thrills with the band being nominated for 'Best MTV2' act at the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards, which take place in Edinburgh on November 6.

Also in the frame are Funeral For A Friend, The Darkness, The Coral and The Libertines who'll be hoping that guitarist Pete Doherty is let out of prison in time to join the party.

Meanwhile, The Thrills have extended their Irish tour which now takes them to Dolan's, Limerick (December 16); Radisson Hotel, Galway (16); Royal Theatre, Castlebar (17); Ulster Hall, Belfast (18); Nerve Centre, Derry (20); and the Olympia, Dublin (21 to 23).

As well as releasing 'Don't Steal The Sun' as a single on November 24, the band "are pursuing an Irish-only exclusive bonus disc" that'll be available with So Much For The City in the run-up to Christmas. According to Virgin Ireland, it'll feature "acoustic versions and previously unreleased material."
