The Snuts call out male fan behaviour after recent show in Oxford
"We are absolutely furious to learn about the behaviour of male fans at our show in Oxford," the band wrote in a recent statement.
The Snuts have released a statement calling out their male fans.
The Scottish indie-rock band paused their gig at the O2 Academy in Oxford last night, November 7, due to the inappropriate behaviour of some male fans at the event. Following the show, they explained the reason for the pause on social media.
"Apologies to everyone for stopping tonight's show," the band wrote on Twitter. "We are absolutely furious to learn about the behaviour of male fans at our show in Oxford."
"This is a male problem and it is only the responsibility of males to stamp it out," they added. "No one should ever feel unsafe at gigs and it's your responsibility to report and call our your friends if they are acting like fucking animals."
"We are not your fucking lad band and you don't get [to] act like that at our shows," the band concluded.
One audience member tweeted about the gig, saying that the band and crowd "deserved better than a load of Oxford students trying to grope girls at their show."
No footage has been shared of the reported behaviour at the concert.
The Snuts are set to continue their tour of the UK throughout this month.
