The frontman also hinted at a possible collaboration with P!ink
Speaking to Hot Press’ Stuart Clark, Danny O’Donoghue of The Script recounted a memorable experience while supporting P!nk on her Summer Carnival tour last year.
Reflecting on the time spent on the road with the pop superstar, O’Donoghue shared a story about being challenged to try one of P!nk’s signature on-stage stunts. "My pride is still very hurt over that," he says.
"She'd seen me say in an interview 'How hard can the flying around on a trapeze that Pink does while singing be?' So, she came and found me and was like, 'Right motherfucker, butter up those hips, you're getting in!'"
"It took me a little while to fit in the machine and when I did and got taken out for a spin, I was absolutely terrified! It gave me a massive newfound respect for how much she puts into her shows."
O’Donoghue also addressed the possibility of a long-anticipated musical collaboration with P!nk, which he has previously described as a bucket-list goal. "Yeah, I think so," he confirmed. "For me and the band, we like to collaborate with people we genuinely have a relationship with.
"I hate the idea of doing a song with someone you're meeting for the first time or hooking up with online. Now that we've struck up a friendship, I'd say, 'Yeah, watch this space!'"
