The Pogues announce Australia & New Zealand tour with guests Daragh Lynch of Lankum, John Francis Flynn and more
Tickets will go on sale Thursday, November 13.
The Pogues have announced their return to Australia and New Zealand for the first time in 14 years, marking four decades since the release of their 1985 album Rum, Sodomy & the Lash.
Founding members Jem Finer, Spider Stacy, and James Fearnley will be joined by a lineup featuring Irish contemporary musicians Daragh Lynch of Lankum, John Francis Flynn, and Iona Zajac, all contributing vocals and multi-instrumental performances.
Also joining the tour are Jordan O’Leary, Fiachra Meek on banjo, guitar and pipes, Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds) on drums, and Holly Mullineaux (formerly of Goat Girl) on bass. The long-running Pogues brass section, Dan Hayes, Pete Fraser and Ian Williamson, will complete the touring lineup.
The tour will kick off in Perth on March 25, 2026, before continuing to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Wellington, Christchurch, and Auckland, with multiple dates at the Sydney Opera House.
Formed in London in 1982, The Pogues became one of the defining bands of the folk-punk movement, blending traditional Irish instrumentation with the energy of punk rock. Their albums include Red Roses for Me, Rum, Sodomy & the Lash, and If I Should Fall from Grace with God.
Original lead vocalist and lyricist Shane MacGowan passed away in 2023. Born in Kent, England to Irish parents, MacGowan was honoured with a lifetime achievement award for outstanding contributions to Irish life, music and culture by Micheal D. Higgins in 2018.
Tickets will go on sale Thursday, November 13.
