Pixies to celebrate 40th anniversary with Limerick and Dublin dates
They will play Live at the Castle on May 31 and 3Olympia on June 2.
Pixies are set to celebrate 40 years since their formation with a headline Pixies 40 worldwide tour next year, including stops at Limerick's Live at the Castle on May 31 and in Dublin’s 3Olympia on June 2.
The tour will start with its UK and Europe leg, starting in York on May 20 and wrapping up in Heerlen on July 19, with a stop in London's Royal Albert Hall on May 28.
The tour is kicking off where the Pixies first met their success, as their third album Doolittle catapulted the band into the UK Top Ten and was revered by the UK music press.

Pixies’ last stop in Ireland dates back to summer 2024, where they delivered a “short, sharp and sensational set” at the RDS, Dublin, according to Hot Press.
The band was formed in Boston in 1986, releasing Come On Pilgrim in 1987, followed by 1988’s Surfer Rosa and 1989’s Doolittle, before splitting in 1993. They reformed in 2004 and have released five acclaimed albums since 2014.
Tickets for Pixies 40 are on sale from Friday, September 26 here.
